I have just started to use "DigiModes",
and confess to being a complete novice. As such, I welcome any information,
or comments about my activities in this area.
My main operations have been with "BPSK31"
and "RTTY". However I have just started to receive"SSTV"
I use a home made (supplied by G0TSG) soundcard interface
to operate these modes, with reasonable success.
This was a cheap interface, purchased from junksale.
It is very primitive, with a manual TX switch for keying the radio
(because my radio does not have VOX). The input and output levels
from the unit are also poorly matched, and require the soundcard
in my computer setting to almost Zero for both MIC input and speaker
output. I was going to try a little more experimenting, but as I
would prefer an interface with automatic switching, have left it
while I go in search of a more sophisticated interface. The interface
by G0TSG has served its purpose well, as it has enabled me to explore
digimodes, and opened them up as an interest for me to explore further.
I currently use two programs. My choice was dictated
by the one important criteria, in that they needed to be free.
I use the excellent PSK31 Deluxe for PSK, and the
comprehensive MultiPSK for everything else.
